По мотивам вот этой публикации. Тут как-то всерьез вознамерился я приобрести планшет "Cube U30GT". Обзоры сей зверь-таблетки есть, например, здесь, здесь и здесь. Посмотрел ассортимент китайских интернет-магазинов. На DX показалось дороговато, на BuyInCoins не смог зарегистрироваться с первого раза, сайт у них какой-то мега-глючный, поэтому выбрал TinyDeal. Залогинился там, изъявил желание купить две чудо-машинки (себе и другу), отслюнявил 400 баксов через PayPal и стал ждать. А потом начались чудеса.
В понедельник приходит письмо на е-почту нижеследующего содержания.

We have got your payment. We sincerely wish you happiness, cheerfulness and success, and appreciate for your purchasing.
Please confirm the shipping address:
In order to verify your payment for the items is safety and licit, Paypal will ask for some information of the big amount payments.

Please send us the scan documents of the information about the follows:
1. Payer’s full name, credit card of the payment (front with last 4 numbers and back with signature)

4. Utility Bill (It is used to confirm the bill address and the shipping address.)
5. Authorization Form (Download first, Fill in and Print out the form)

Then give us a reply with photo or PDF document, could you please help us to send the information for confirming the payment, then we confirm the payment.
And, According to the PayPal policy, it is not safe according to PayPal rule as the account is unverified; also, it is not safe to send the order to an unconfirmed address;
If your account is unverified or unconfirmed, Could you please contact paypal to verify the paypal account, and confirm the shipping address?
Please reply in 5 days, if we don't get your reply in 5 days, we will refund you at first in order to not delay your order so much time.

Ну ни хрена ж себе, подумал я. С какого это внезапно перепугу магазин затребовал кучу инфы приватного характера, в том числе номер кредитки (!), номер паспорта, образец подписи? Может вам еще ключи от квартиры дать, где деньги лежат? Полный негодования отписал в техподдержку PayPal-а, приложив в аттаче письмо от TinyDeal. PayPal-овцы подтвердили мои сомнения.

Ну раз уж сам PayPal не советует слать продавцу свои персональные данные, то я тем более просто пошлю этого продавца куда подальше. Поэтому затребовал с TinyDeal возврат своего бабла взад. Что они и сделали.
Вот и покупай после этого в китайских магазинах. Кстати, тот же Cube U30GT сейчас стал настолько популярным, что его можно купить и здесь, в России. Правда, придется переплатить примерно 1000 рублей, зато он будет у тебя в руках в тот же день.
А вообще, пожалуй даже хорошо что так вышло. Несколькими днями позже я осознал, что "кубик" при всей своей крутизне под мои задачи всё равно не подойдёт. Ибо нужен мне планшет со встроенным либо GPS, либо GSM, а лучше и с тем и с другим сразу. Но это уже совсем другая история.
